Retrofit question for code -V3 on a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have seen this on a similar Jeep Grand Cherokee. The basic description was correct, but one related feature was part of a separate package. I would not assume the code includes every item mentioned in marketing material.

The wording may be abbreviated because these were originally production codes rather than consumer descriptions. “Dark Slate/Medium Graystone. This code identifies the factory seat style, upholstery, or interior trim configuration” is a reasonable plain-English reading, but the exact implementation should be verified for the 2022 model.

Some codes are reused across several brands, but that does not always mean the parts are identical. Model, trim, drivetrain, and production date can all matter.

The dealer should be able to pull a VIN-specific equipment or parts record. Ask them to search by VIN rather than entering only the three-character code.

I would avoid buying retrofit parts until the connectors and module support are confirmed. Returning electronic or VIN-programmed components can be difficult.
