What is a Dodge build sheet?

A build sheet is the factory's own record of how one specific vehicle was assembled. For a Dodge it lists every sales code — engine, transmission, axle, paint, packages, and options — tied to the VIN.

It's the most reliable way to confirm how a used Charger, Challenger, or Durango was originally configured — far more dependable than a badge or a listing.

What the build sheet shows

Powertrain, trim, exterior and interior colors, wheels, option packages, and dealer-installed-at-factory equipment — the details that explain why two cars with the same model name can feel completely different.

On performance models it separates the genuine hardware — Scat Pack, SRT, Hellcat equipment — from appearance packages that only look the part.

Sales codes explained

Stellantis / FCA vehicles use 3-character factory sales codes on the build sheet. One package code can bundle several smaller features, so reading the sheet carefully tells you what the car actually carries.

Factory data is the baseline, not proof of current condition — wheels, audio, and trim may have changed since delivery, so use the sheet alongside photos and an inspection.

Dodge Charger Build Sheet and Factory Options

The modern Charger lineup runs from rental-fleet V6 sedans to supercharged machines with more than 700 horsepower, all wearing broadly similar bodywork. That spread is exactly why the build sheet matters more on this car than on almost anything else on the used market.

The ladder is straightforward on paper: SXT and GT with the 3.6L Pentastar V6, R/T with the 5.7L HEMI, Scat Pack with the 6.4L 392, and SRT Hellcat models with the supercharged 6.2L.

The price gaps between those rungs are enormous, and every gap is an incentive for badge swapping. R/T and Scat Pack emblems cost a few dollars online and install in minutes.

Factory widebody cars and named editions such as Daytona appeared in various years as real factory content, which means they appear in the record, not just on the fenders.

Within every trim there is option spread as well. Plus Group equipment, sunroofs, premium audio, navigation, and driver-assistance bundles separate a loaded car from a base one at the same badge level.

The used market also includes retired police-package Chargers. They are honest cars for the right buyer, but heavy-duty fleet equipment shows up clearly on the record, so nobody should discover it by accident.

Walk the car with the sheet in hand. Wheels, brakes, seats, spoilers, and hood should all match the listing; anything extra is aftermarket and anything missing needs an explanation.
